My View of HIV/AIDS in Africa

The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS, UNAIDS reports that,

"The AIDS epidemic in Africa shows no signs of abating. Sub-Saharan Africa remains by far the region worst-affected by the AIDS epidemic. Between 25 and 28 million people are living with HIV/AIDS in the region."

If HIV/AIDS is a sexually transmitted diseases, then Africa is canot be the most affected region in the world. If HIV is so common in Africa, then unrotected sex is also common, but on the contrary, protected and unprotected sex is very uncommon in Africa, this is due to the high moral standard in Africa. There is always a gap between the male folks and the female folks in Africa unlike what we see in the media, about other countries, especially the western part.

The ordination of gay bishops in the western world, shows the level of moral decadence in that part. This also means that the peoeple of the region has little or no respect for the social stuctures of life. Automatically casual sex would be very rampant in that region.

A Nigerian doctor once told me that tha vaccines being used to test people for HIV in Nigeria are Malaria Vaccines. I believe this because of the latese result that shown that in Benue State, Nigeria, 90% are HIV positive. From a social view, that cannot be possible. The people of that region are has high morals and are religios as well. Sex before marraige is regarded has taboo in that region.

Also, if HIV makes people so thin, then we would have been seeing thin and weak people in our enviroment. But I do not see people like that. I have not heard of a close person who has been said to die of AIDS. I see them in movies.

The rate at which the media potrays Africa's Image concerning HIV/AIDS is unfavourable to Africa has a continent. The publication of this 'erroneus fact' makes people scare at the mention of Africa, thus making people scared of investing their mone in Africa.

In conclusion, Africa, a moral land can never be hit by a diseases transmitted by sex, an uncommon act in that region. Let African Leaders take control of this issue and get to the truth on an African Platform. The westerners should not be trusted with this!

MY VIEW ABOUT HIV/AIDS IN AFRICA
I think the writer is blowing the African morals out of proportion. Believe it or not our morals have degenerated to a "shameful Level" and we must come to terms with that if we are to move the continent forward and progressively. Lets not devise excuses for our uncompromising behaviours otherwise our population will be wiped out in no distant time.
Thank you.
Chinyere.

better future for our youth
one thing that as really been the youth problem is their in ability to develop their potentials.no man will develop you for yourself you just have to be yourself and start up to ignore what your society can do for you today.our leaders are no more looking back but up to their graves.they are a total failure to our present problems of unfruitful education.it is time for every nigerian youth to start with an idea of a little beginning.then we will smile to see our time been more fruitful to the coming generation.let us start to quote ourselves and not what someone quoted then, the world is moving so we need to move along not to lag behind then the future of ours as youth will be more better defined.Hon.akogun segun
